Marina Bowsher

Marina Bowsher, President

Marina is a parent of a senior in the Richard Montgomery International Baccalaureate (IB) program and a college junior at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business who graduated from the IB program at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School in 2021. Marina holds a JD from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and a BA from Rutgers University – New Brunswick. After beginning her career in the law firm world, she started her own business assisting federal agencies and private businesses with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) compliance by providing advice and conducting internal investigations. Marina was won over by the IB pedagogy after seeing its innumerable positive effects in the development of knowledgeable, inquisitive, open-minded, resourceful, and ethical citizens of the world.

 

 

 

 

Jingfeng Huang

 Jingfeng Huang, Vice President (Acting At-Large)

Jingfeng is a parent of a sophomore in the Richard Montgomery International Baccalaureate (IB) program and a 4th grader at DuFief Elementary School. Jingfeng holds a bachelor degree from Tsinghua University, a Master degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and a PhD from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. Besides his work as a senior scientist, Jingfeng also devotes himself to community services at multiple non-profit organizations including the RMIB Foundation. Jingfeng shares his belief that the IB Program can help our students to be well rounded future leaders who are more prepared for the challenges our world is currently facing.

Vivian Li, Treasurer

Vivian is a parent of a Richard Montgomery IB Class of 2026 student.  She holds a BS of Finance and a MS in Information Management. Vivian is a seasoned professional in the Financial Services industry with over 25 years of experiencing. She currently works for a Fortune 500 company in Washington D.C. and lives in Montgomery County, Maryland, with her family. Vivian  worked and lived in Virginia and Texas prior to settling down in Maryland.

 

Kshama Hegde

Lauren Yates, Secretary

Lauren is the parent of two RMIB students (an incoming freshman, and a senior).  She received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Brown University and her JD from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she held a Public Interest scholarship.  She is most proud of the legal work she has done representing unhoused persons and victims of domestic violence and helping to exonerate a wrongly convicted prisoner at the Innocence Project.  She has had many adventures including being a dolphin trainer, conducting experiments on NASA’s reduced-gravity aircraft, and working in an atomic laboratory –  but her wildest experience by far has been raising her two amazing daughters.  She finds the talents of RMIB’s devoted teachers and staff, as well as the fascinating and well-crafted curriculum, nothing short of inspiring, and she is delighted to help support the program in any way she can.

 

Alvin Lu

Zack Lam, RMIB Student Rep.

Zack Lam is an IB sophomore at Richard Montgomery High School. He’s looking forward to helping out with the IB program and contributing to the RMIB Foundation. Within school, Zack is involved in quizbowl, neuro-corner, and math club, is heavily interested in history and english, and part of RM’s golf team, national debate team, and jazz ensemble. Outside of school, he enjoys writing, cooking, and playing the piano.

 

Samantha Cutler

Samantha Cutler,  RMIB Student Rep.

Samantha Cutler is a junior in the IB program at Richard Montgomery High School. She has enjoyed helping out the RMIB community for the past year and is excited to keep contributing. She is interested in English and history, works as an editor for the RM Tide, and outside of school, she enjoys baking, listening to music, and reading.

Katie Herman

Katie Herman, At Large (Acting Vice President)

Katie is the parent of a junior in the Richard Montgomery International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Katie holds a BA from Brown University and has over 25 years of experience working in the public education sector in Chicago, Providence, and Washington, DC. She is a partner at TenSquare, a national public school support organization, where she founded the school improvement practice area and manages general operations. She works directly with charter school boards and leaders on restructuring and school improvement efforts, strategic planning, charter reviews, and executive searches. Katie was among the founding staff of Thurgood Marshall Academy Public Charter High School in Anacostia, DC where she served as Managing Director, Development Director, and Board Member for more than a decade. She led the development efforts of College Summit, a national college access organization, and as Vice President of Development she built a national development team and developed the infrastructure to support 11 regional operations. Katie also has experience in education research and evaluation from her work at the DC-based education evaluation firm, Policy Studies Associates.

Roger Lam

Roger Lam, At Large

Roger Lam is the parent of a sophomore at the Richard Montgomery International Baccalaureate (IB) program.

He holds a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from UMCP.   He has more than 30 years of experience in leading large scale enterprise IT solution for the private sector and Federal Gov through KPMG and IBM.  He currently works in the FDA CDER PMO. Roger enjoys traveling, golf, and listening to music in his leisure time. 

Christopher Pease, At Large

Chris is the father of a recent graduate and a junior in the IB program. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics from Imperial College, London.  He also holds an MBA from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.  He works for IBA managing the proton therapy cancer treatment center at Inova in Fairfax, VA.  He also serves as an election judge for the Montgomery County Board of Elections.  Chris is a firm believer in the power of building bridges through travel and cultural exchanges.  He has lived in Brazil, England and in various regions of the United States.

 

Kshama Hegde

Kshama Hegde, At Large

Kshama is a parent of a junior in the Richard Montgomery IB program and a college junior at the University of Maryland. Kshama holds master’s degree from University of Maryland Baltimore County in computer science and undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication from Visvesvarayya Technological University – India. Kshama began her career in the satellite communication industry as a software engineer and has worked in several satellite industries as lead engineer. Kshama is now working for NASA as a ground system engineer. Kshama enjoys travelling, hiking and camping in her free time.  

Lini Wu

Lini Wu, At Large

Lini is the mother of a sophomore in the Richard Montgomery IB program and a recent graduate from the Poolesville High School. She holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University. She is working as an IT Specialist for the federal government. She loves how the IB program prepares students as global citizens by fostering critical thinking, creativity, and diversity.
