Sharon Fine, President

Sharon is the mother of a junior in the RM IB magnet program, and two sons who are attending University of Maryland and University of Delaware, respectively.  Sharon earned a Bachelor of Arts from Emory University and a Masters in Education from George Washington University.  Her diverse career path began on Capitol Hill, then K Street, and then a small business venture in art before she became a teacher.  Sharon taught in the MCPS system and currently teaches history at Stone Ridge School in Bethesda.  She is active at Congregation Beth El, currently leading their refugee outreach program.  Sharon lives in Bethesda, where she is rapidly approaching empty nest status with her husband of 25 years.                                         Sharonfine@rmibfoundation.org

 

Sharon Pang, Vice President

Sharon lives in Rockville and is a proud mother of two daughters, a sophomore at RMHS and an 8th grader at Eastern Middle School. Sharon holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Maryland and has been working in the Information Technology (IT) field for the past two decades. She is currently an IT project officer at US Dept. of Health and Human Services.  Sharon has also been an active volunteer in her community. She has served as President of Parklawn Toastmaster Club, Membership Chair of Federal Asian Pacific American Council as well as Executive Director of Harmony Career Institute. Denyse Baker, Treasurer

Denyse is the parent of a junior in the IB program. Denyse is the Director of Science and Regulatory Affairs for PDA, a not for profit association in Bethesda, working with 10,000 volunteers to develop training, technical publications and conferences for individuals working in pharmaceutical manufacturing and regulations.  She has been fortunate in her career to work with people from all over the world and even live overseas.  Denyse believes the IB approach can broaden horizons and deepen learning for the students who have the opportunity to participate.   She would like to see the foundation help to enrich the program and provide IB experiences outside the walls of RMHS. Denyse@rmibfoundation.org

Alex Stavitsky-Zeineddin, Secretary & Communications

Alex is the mother of a sophmore and freshman in the Richard Montgomery magnet IB program. She currently teaches yoga and meditation and does communications work. Alex earned her B.A. International Relations at Mount Holyoke College and did graduate work in Journalism at NYU. Alex was a news editor and producer/journalist for Associated Press. She spent many years overseas covering conflicts and politics. Alex is also active in her community, as co-chair of the Kentlands Foundation Go Green Group, on the Environmental Affairs Committee for the City of Gaithersburg, and does communications for the local swim team. She believes the International Baccaulaureate program at Richard Montgomery is so valuable because it develops well rounded, internationally minded, critical thinkers. Alex@rmibfoundation.org

Siddharth Mathew, IB Alumni Representative

Siddharth Mathew is a 2015 graduate of the Richard Montgomery IB Program and currently a senior at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he is double majoring in Mathematics and Philosophy (Honors). At Brown, he is the co-president of a program house in charge of residential life, a member of the Brown Investment Group, and a recent winner of the 2018 Alexander Meiklejohn Prize in Logic and Related Subjects. Siddharth aspires to a career in finance and interned with an IP and business advisory firm for two summers performing company valuations and market analysis for technology patents and related business portfolios. However, inspired by his professors and his own extensive philosophical readings, Siddharth is also considering graduate school in philosophy. When he is not busy working on math problems or reading Chalmers or Nozick, Siddharth enjoys playing strategy games like Go, Shogi and Chess, listening to music and podcasts, and trying new restaurants and cuisines.

 

Amy Gambrill
Director of Staff and Teacher Support

Amy is the parent of a sophomore in the IB program. So far, five of her six kids have attended Richard Montgomery, including two recent graduates (2015 and 2017), as well as a current senior and junior. Amy also has a seventh grader at Julius West so she
feels lucky she will be a part of the RM community for another six years. Amy has spent the vast majority of her 25-year environmental career in the international realm, including managing national parks in Africa and improving access to safe water in Asia and South America. She is currently working on sharing environment and energy knowledge across USAID’s forestry, biodiversity, climate change, water, energy, and infrastructure sectors. She is excited to join the RM IB foundation. 
Christopher Pease, Director of IB Enrichment/Exchange Programs

Chris is the father of a freshman in the IB program and a 7th grader at Eastern Middle School.  He  holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics from Imperial College, London.  He also holds an MBA from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.  He has worked for Ciena in Operations and Supply-Chain since he moved to Maryland in 2006.  He also serves as an election judge for the Montgomery County Board of Elections.  Chris is a firm believer in the power of building bridges through travel and cultural exchanges.  He has lived in Brazil, England and in various regions of the United States.
