Shihoko Goto o’Looney
Shihoko Goto O’Looney is the mother of a junior in the IB program and an eighth grader at Roberto Clemente Middle School. Having obtained the IB diploma from the International School of Brussels many, many years ago, she knows only too well just how tough the program can be. But she also knows how rewarding it can be too, and still fondly remembers her HL world history class and the great TOK discussions in particular. (Thank you Mr. Goldthorpe and Mr. Nimmons!) She went on to obtain a BA in modern history from the University of Oxford and an MA in political theory from Tokyo’s Waseda University. She first came to Washington DC to work at the World Bank as an external affairs officer, and she is currently deputy director for geoeconomics at the Wilson Center, a Washington think tank. She’s excited to be part of the Foundation to help enhance the IB experience at Richard Montgomery.

Alex Stavitsky-Zeineddin, Vice President
Alex is the mother of a senior and junior in the Richard Montgomery IB program. She currently teaches yoga and meditation and does communications work. Alex earned her B.A. International Relations at Mount Holyoke College and did graduate work in Journalism at NYU. Alex was a news editor and producer/journalist for Associated Press. She spent many years overseas covering conflicts and politics. Alex is also active in her community, as co-chair of the Kentlands Foundation Go Green Group, and on the Environmental Affairs Committee for the City of Gaithersburg. She believes the International Baccaulaureate program at Richard Montgomery is so valuable because it develops well rounded, internationally minded, critical thinkers. Alex@rmibfoundation.org
